Summer Row, Birmingham B3 1JB
Our main site on Summer Row, previously known as the Birmingham College of Food and Domestic Arts, is a central home for our college courses, and undergraduate courses related to food and hospitality industry.
Summer Row is conveniently located by the bustling Colmore business district, which is abuzz with top restaurants, trendy bars and cool cafés, while you can see the spectacular Library of Birmingham from the front of the campus.
The building, opened in 1968, is home to our acclaimed industry-standard kitchen facilities and our £2 million Food Science and Innovation Suite featuring the latest food testing and diagnostic technology.
Summer Row also features our brand new Aviation and Tourism Suite, offering stunning simulation facilities, including a mock plane cabin, as well as our Treatment Rooms for those training on our aesthetics, beauty and hairdressing courses.
Summer Row has a large cafeteria, including a salad bar, situated on the fifth floor. The popular Cakes & Bakes shop, selling delicious bakery products and chocolates made by our students, is on the ground floor.
University College Birmingham’s award-winning training restaurant, formerly known as the Atrium and the Brasserie, which have been acclaimed by the AA, is at Summer Row. The Restaurant at Birmingham College of Food offers fine dining and casual modern British and European cooking at lunchtime and dinner, and they are the backdrop for special theme dinners arranged by students.
