217,000 new construction workers needed in the UK by 2025*

*CITB, 2021

Get an industry-recognised qualification equivalent to three A-levels

Do you want to become part of the future of sustainable construction? Aspire to become an architect or work in planning and civil engineering? Britain needs a new generation of workers to drive the modernisation of the construction industry and meet demand, with the UK government pledging billions towards regeneration and planning to build 300,000 new homes per year. Our T-level Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction course will provide you with the grounding of skills and knowledge to put you in prime position to meet this national need.

University College Birmingham is one of the first colleges in the UK to offer the new T-level qualification, which combines learning in the classroom with gaining vital ‘on-the-job’ experience. Studying on our two-year T-level construction course, you will learn about the construction industry with a strong focus on sustainability and modernising construction techniques, covering key topics including digital technology, building technology, design, project management and health and safety, as well as enhancing your maths, English and other transferable skills.

Equivalent to three A-levels, this course will help you boost your employment prospects by gaining extensive experience on a work placement in a real-world environment, supported by experts in our Hired employability team. By completing this industry recognised qualification, you could move towards a range of industry roles, from architect and planner to surveyor or site manager, while you could also progress onto an apprenticeship or a course at university level.

Why choose this college course?

  • BOOST YOUR SKILLS – Build key skills and knowledge related to construction, design, planning and surveying, as well as enhancing your English, maths and digital skills
  • WORK PLACEMENT – Get to know the world of work and gain essential industry experience through a work placement
  • RECOGNISED QUALIFICATION – Our T-level course has been designed in collaboration with industry to ensure your skills meet employers’ needs and expectations
There are lots of reasons why we think you should study with us, but here are our top 5. View video.
