What is an applicant day?
An applicant day is the best way for you to find out further information about University College Birmingham and the course you have applied for. Our applicant days will be held on 5 April 2025.
Here are some of the activities you can take part in on the day.
- Course taster activities
- Family and friends session
- Why should you join the applicant day?
- Have a question about your application?
If you are still yet to book onto the applicant day, please contact events@ucb.ac.uk, and a member of the team will process your booking.
Course taster activities
Whether it’s creating your own mocktail, taking part in a virtual reality task or carrying out a skin analysis treatment, our practical activities will give you first-hand experience of your potential future career.
Meet new friends and future classmates
We know that it can be a little daunting starting a new place of education, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Applicant days are the best way to meet future classmates and make new friends before you even start.
Accommodation tour
As well as the campus tour, you will also have the chance to join our Student Ambassadors to look around our halls of residence, The Maltings, which is only a short walk from our campus. Our accommodation is easy to get to on foot, but there will be free coaches available to take you there on the day.
Campus tour
Although you have applied to study here with us, you may have missed the opportunity to see all of the facilities that we have to offer. If so, no need to worry, as you will have the option to join a campus tour after your second activity session, run by our Student Ambassadors.
Support services
We know that you may still have questions about studying here at University College Birmingham and our support services will be here to help with any concerns. You will be able to speak with Student Finance, Disability and Neurodiversity Support, HIRED and more.
Meet the Guild
If you are thinking about joining a society or sports club or even starting up your own campaign, make sure to stop by and meet your Guild of Students. You will be able to find out about our clubs, ranging from cheerleading, rugby, netball and football to our bakery, drama and Queer societies.
Family and friends session
Bringing someone with you? We welcome parents, carers, friends and family. We have specific sessions to answer all of their questions throughout the day.
Why should you join the applicant day?
Our applicant day is your opportunity to learn about your course through interactive taster sessions. You will also meet your future tutors and coursemates, which will help you see yourself studying at University College Birmingham.
Chat with our current students and find out how an applicant day helped them.
Bringing our students together
We know making friends is an important part of the university experience, and you may be a little nervous about joining us. Our Unibuddy Community allows you to get to know others who have also applied for your course, even before you join us for the applicant day!
