University College Birmingham Learning and Teaching Strategy - 2021-2024

The strategy has been developed during a time of extraordinary change in learning and teaching. Digital adaptations made during the Covid-19 pandemic allow us to understand more clearly the benefits of blended modes of delivery and accessible resources. The Learning and Teaching Strategy 2021-24 provides a transparent overview of what we do, and how we do it; to provide an authentic, imaginative and transformative learning experience. We continue to invest in high-quality, world-class campus facilities enabling our graduates to compete with advantage, progressing into aspirational and rewarding career destinations. We have a sustained reputation of exceptional student support and personalised learning, building upon and helping students to achieve their goals at each level of study. We are committed to working in collaboration with our accrediting partner, the University of Warwick, in the delivery of our Learning and Teaching Strategy to ensure that through our objectives of sharing staff knowledge and expertise, and mutual research activities and opportunities, we maximise the learning and teaching experience for our students and create and maintain an excellent learning environment for all. By creating and sharing opportunities that develop employability, we aim to ensure students have the ability and confidence to meet the challenges of their chosen career, together with skills of self-reflection and lifelong learning to equip them for future career progression. Our shared aim is to make teaching and learning interesting, challenging, and relevant to your chosen career, with varied and innovative teaching and assessment methods, by listening and working with our students and partners, to harness the skills, potential and imagination of all. Our 2021–24 Learning and Teaching Strategy builds upon UCB’s exceptional and sustained record of teaching excellence in vocational and research pedagogy.
