Lisa Marie Cham International Tourism Management MSc, Whatuni Bursary* winner When I found out I won the bursary, I actually cried. Someone actually took time out of their day to nominate me for this bursary, which means so much to me. It means that I’m being recognised for the effort that I’m putting into my studying and I’ll forever be grateful to each and every member of staff at University College Birmingham for all the support they’ve given me. DID YOU KNOW? IF YOU JOIN US FROM OUR COLLEGE, YOUWILL RECEIVE A FREE LAPTOP! COST OF LIVING SUPPORT We understand that it’s difficult to make ends meet at the moment and we’re doing our bit to help you. For example, this year, we have introduced free breakfast, fruit and soup for all students. Our Guild of Students have also been campaigning to help students and have set up ‘leave what you can, take what you need’ boxes across campus for students in need. Finally, we know that even with all the support we offer, times are still tough for students right now. While we can’t help everybody, we do have funding set aside for students who are in need of emergency financial help. Speak to our Student Services team, who will be able to help. *As winner of the Whatuni ‘University of the Year award, University College Birmingham was able to award five deserving students a bursary of £2,000 each.
