Marks and certificates
Whether you're a former student who needs to replace vital documents or a current student who wants to know what you will receive when you complete your studies, you will find all the relevant information here.
Further Education Students and Apprentices
On successful completion of their course, all students are issued a certificate. For FE or College students studying qualifications, such as A-levels, T-Levels, NVQ’s, BTEC’s, VRQ’s and GCSE’s, this will issued by the relevant Awarding Body for your course (e.g. CACHE, Pearson). This will be posted to your home address by the Academic Registry. If you have not received your certificate please contact Academic Registry via registry@ucb.ac.uk.
If you need a replacement certificate, you should contact the relevant Awarding Body. Contact details for Awarding Bodies can be found below. If you are not sure who awarded your qualification, please contact registry@ucb.ac.uk
University Students
On successful completion of each level of study undergraduate can request an Interim Academic Transcript detailing the modules studied and marks and credits achieved. After successfully completing their course, all our University students are issued a certificate and an Academic Transcript detailing the marks and credits achieved for all years studied at University College Birmingham.
If you studied an Honours degree these documents will show your final classification (First, 2:1, 2:2, or Third). For postgraduate students these documents will show whether you were awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction. Foundation Degree, Certificate of Higher Education and Diploma of Higher Education awards have no overall classification.
All our Higher Education students receive one free hard copy of their certificate and Academic Transcript on award. For students awarded between June and September, this will be provided to the student at the next Graduation Ceremony. For students awarded from October to May the transcript will be posted to the student’s permanent home address. The certificate will be issued at graduation or posted out after the ceremony. Digital copies of certificates should be available on the Student Document Verification Service once the transcript is issued. Students who do not receive the free copy of their Academic Transcript or Certificate should contact the Academic Registry via registry@ucb.ac.uk.
In addition, students graduating from 2019 now have access to digital documents through our new verification service. Using this service, all graduates from 2019 can access, share or download a secure digital copy of their Academic Transcript. Graduates awarded by University College Birmingham will also be able access, share or download a secure digital copy of their Certificate. Graduates of the University of Warwick will be able to access secure digital certificates on the University of Warwick system, which can be found at gradintel.com.
It is planned to extend this service to graduates from previous academic years in the near future.
