A passion for people
Manavi describes herself as “a people person,” and has never been in doubt that her future career would lie in hospitality.
When exploring the possibility of studying for a master’s, the course at University College Birmingham proved an irresistible draw:
“While researching the course I found the University was voted best for student experience at the What Uni student choice awards. So far it's more than lived up to expectations.”
Recently, she travelled to London to attend the Institute of Hospitality’s Passion4Hospitality conference, and relished the chance to put learning into practice: “It was a great experience and, overall, a big platform for meeting people and companies in the industry,” she enthused.
“Hospitality is ever-changing, and my course helps me to tackle the strategic and technical part of it, better equipping me for the future.”
With lofty ambitions, Manavi is more than happy to stay in the city for the foreseeable future, and has enjoyed the chance to explore different people and cultures.
"I love making friends from different cultures, getting to know their lifestyles and opinions, and the ideas they bring whenever we work on projects," she said.
“Whether you want nightlife or enjoy quieter pastimes, there’s something for everyone in Birmingham. I always look forward to classes, and honestly can’t think of a better place to live!”
