Ed Bird
Lecturer and Deputy Dean
With a background in both business and technology, deputy dean Ed knows all about the benefits of a postgraduate computing qualification – having completed such a course himself.
Beginning his career in management before moving into computing and software development, Ed studied Computer Science and an MBA at postgraduate level, and has since gone on to manage computing departments within the education sector.
Here’s what he had to say about University College Birmingham’s master’s course in Computer Science:
“Having previously studied an MSc in Computer Science, I know how valuable postgraduate qualifications are,” said Ed.
“Whether you are seeking to change careers, update your IT skills and knowledge or differentiate yourself from undergraduates, this course offers the broad curriculum required to work successfully in the modern digital world.
“Not only will you be taught by very experienced and highly qualified staff, but you will also benefit from having access to brand new, purpose-built facilities and our long-term commitment to this subject area,” he added.
“You will be learning in state-of-the-art facilities using industry standard software to develop very relevant and up-to-date skills.”
