Profile
I joined the Events Management teaching team at University College Birmingham in 2008, as a Lecturer, and I am currently a Final Year Manager of the BA (Hons) Events Management programme. I lead on a number of modules relating to event strategy and project management and I also teach on the masters degree in Global Meetings and Events Management. With nearly 20 years industry experience in the fields of Hospitality, Tourism and Events, I have worked for a variety of public and private sector organisations in the UK. Prior to working at University College Birmingham, I worked for Severn Trent Water as an Events Co-ordinator and Business Executive for Severn Trent Services International; as well as the Walt Disney Company and Disney Cruise Line in America.

My research interests include the use of online technologies for events management; event tourism and crisis management.
External engagements
I liaise with a number of external clients via the Live Events Project including The Prince's Trust, George Coller Memorial Fund, Birmingham Children's and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals and the Railway Children. This important module presents an invaluable, experiential learning opportunity for students.
