Profile

I joined University College Birmingham in 2018 as a Bakery and Patisserie lecturer. Prior to starting my teaching career, I studied Professional Bakery which led to valuable experiences, including a Leonardo Scholarship where I worked in a bakery in Marseille, and participated in competitions such as Cake International and Salon Culinaire International, plus many more work placements within the food industry during this time.

After completing my diploma, I went on to study BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Management. This led to roles as a New Product Development Technologist at Greencore Cakes and Desserts, where I developed ambient celebration cakes for major supermarkets, and later as a Product Developer at Rich Products, creating bakery items for high-profile customers.

My teaching career began with the Bakery Academy's program at University College Birmingham, progressing to a full-time lecturer teaching Level 2 and 3 Professional Bakery students in confectionery, cake decoration, and sugar flowers. I have since completed a postgraduate certificate in Learning & Teaching in Vocational Subjects.

Currently, I focus on the BSc/FdSc Bakery and Patisserie Technology degree, teaching modules such as specialist confectionery, introduction to patisserie, bakery product design & development, and bakery trends. I am also a dissertation mentor and year manager for BSc final-year students on the Bakery and Patisserie Technology degree.

I teach on a range of modules on the BSc/FdSc Bakery & Patisserie Technology (BPT) degree, including|:
