Profile
I started my professional journey as a beauty therapist, dedicating many years to perfecting my skills in salons and spas, leading to the successful management of my own beauty salon. Subsequently, I transitioned into the realm of education.
In 2004, I joined University College Birmingham as a lecturer, and over time, I progressed through various roles, including senior curriculum leader and deputy head of department. Throughout my tenure, I've used my teaching expertise to manage and deliver diverse programmes, emphasising quality and enhancing the student experience.
As the current Head of Department for Business, Creative and Sport in Further Education (FE), my primary focus is leading a sizable FE team and overseeing the department's overall performance. Collaboration with fellow academic and professional services teams within the University is integral to maintaining a unified approach to shared objectives. Additionally, I lead the operational planning initiatives within the department, ensuring that students benefit from enriching opportunities and a curriculum that is both engaging and industry-aligned.
