Profile
I originally trained as a professional dancer at two of the country's top institutions for the performing arts. After working in the industry for three years, first-hand experience of injury in an elite athletic environment prompted my return to education to study for my bachelor's degree in Sports Therapy. I commenced my teaching career as a graduate teaching assistant while studying for my Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and continuing my industrial experience with employment at The Cloisters Sports Injury Clinic, Adage Dance Studios and BodyPower Expo 2014.
In September 2014, I joined the Sports Therapy lecturing team at University College Birmingham and began managing the second year programme from 2017. In 2019, I completed my MSc Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at University College London, during which I was involved in a research study at the Birmingham Royal Ballet company and Elmhurst Ballet school for pre-professional youth dancers.
