Gemma Kirby

I currently hold the position of Associate Lecturer in Education, and prior to this, I was employed as a Nursery Manager in Birmingham. 

I began my career as an apprentice and worked my way up to a management position over a period of 14 years. During this time, I completed a foundation degree in Early Years. During my time in Early Years I have also worked as a pre-school teacher, and held the positions of Designated Safeguarding Lead and Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator. 

I am currently undertaking a PG Cert in Higher Education and a Masters in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing as I strongly feel that the disciplines of Early Years, education and psychology are closely interlinked.
