Deborah Madden

I joined University College Birmingham as an academic support worker in November 2021.

I have worked in education supporting students since 2008, and previously worked as a specialist support assistant in secondary schools in Birmingham and Solihull, completing qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Education. 

I have supported students with a variety of additional needs including dyslexia, dyspraxia and ASD. My role also involved educational advocacy and learning mentorship, working with students on a one-to-one basis.

Prior to working in education, my background was in science/engineering and audit/compliance of quality, safety and environmental management systems within the technology sector.

Outside of work, I am a member of the National Trust and enjoy nature and the outdoors, walking and cycling.
