University joins prestigious AACSB Business Education Alliance

University College Birmingham is proud to announce that our Business School has succeeded in attaining membership of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The AACSB is an internationally recognised not-for-profit institution based in the US, and the world's largest business education network. It sets the global standard for business education, and membership is renowned in the field as both a mark of academic excellence and a step on the route to prestigious full accreditation.
The Business Education Alliance represents a diverse global association of universities and industry leaders, and was developed in order to encourage relationship building, collaboration and knowledge exchange across over 100 countries. The Alliance features over 1800 member organisations encompassing over 150,000 educators and innovators, and more than two million annual website visitors.
Students at University College Birmingham will benefit from enhanced access to a range of expertise across all areas of business education and innovation, and the University will gain exclusive access to perspectives from leading voices in global business education. This will come alongside the latest data and insights, and the chance to take part in more than 100 in-person and online events annually, with topics as varied as skills development, quality improvement, and societal impact.
Coinciding with our achievement of membership, Dr David Paulson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the Business School represented the University at the AACSB annual conference in Malta. The event highlighted work from members’ business schools across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and wide-ranging discussions encompassed issues as varied as AI, sustainability, and innovation.
The Conference presented an exciting opportunity to forge closer relationships with other business schools, allowing us to improve students’ learning experiences and enhance the standing of both University College Birmingham and the West Midlands business community on the international stage.
David said: "AACSB is the most highly respected organisation of its kind in the world, and we’re delighted to have been accepted as members.
"This is the first step towards University College Birmingham's Business School achieving the globally recognised AACSB accreditation, evidence of our commitment to advancing the careers of our students and to supporting the region’s businesses."
