University College Birmingham has received another ringing endorsement from the Institute of Hospitality.
The university has recorded its highest ever score as part of the Hospitality Assured assessment, which was conducted earlier this month.
It was UCB’s tenth full assessment against the standard, which is a quality award for customer focused organisations recognising high achievement in service performance and business excellence.
Following the two-day inspection, the Institute of Hospitality awarded a score of 78.6% under the Standard for Service and Business Excellence, which it described as a “fantastic result.”
It means the university “deservedly” retains the status of Hospitality Assured Premier.
The minimum requirement for the standard is 60% and the average score for all Hospitality Assured accreditations is 71.5%. UCB’s score of 78.6% means it is the highest ranking of any similar organisation.
UCB has been in the top 10% of all organisations to have achieved the award for several years and continues to be the top scorer in the university sector. The accreditation of Hospitality Assured applies to the whole university, not just the hospitality operations.
The Institute of Hospitality Accreditation helps to promote internationally recognised quality standards, assist in the mobility of labour and facilitate global recruitment, setting the benchmark for recognised levels and standards of knowledge, skills and understanding.
